We begin our adventure at 04:30 AM, picking up each member of the group from their respective accommodations or hotels (*close to Cusco) and starting the trip together with their Guide and Cook. We will leave in the direction of the town of Mollepata which is (2,800 meters above sea level / 9,186 feet) , passing through towns such as Izcuchaca and Limatambo, arriving at 07:30 AM and where we will have a break to have a light optional breakfast. We continue towards Challacancha for an hour, where it will be the starting point of our trail to Salkantay, the Route of the Gods .
From this place we will meet with our support and logistics staff, they will prepare the equipment and pack mules. Around 09:30 AM. We begin our walk towards Soraypampa , where our first travel camp is located (3,910 masl / 12,828 feet) .
The first part of the walk, we will walk along an old road and it will lead us through deep valleys next to the mountain. We will be able to observe an old "aqueduct" canal, where cold crystalline water flows and passes that supplies the inhabitants of the area. During 3 hours of walking we will arrive at our Soraypampa camp , to then have lunch and regain strength. At this point we will have enough time to enjoy and take photos of the impressive views of the canyon that extends in the area, you can contemplate the glaciers and snow-capped mountains of Salkantay such as Humantay .
In the afternoon and after a rest at our camp, we will begin the walk for 1 hour and 30 minutes towards the dazzling and turquoise Humantay Lagoon (4,210 masl / 13,812 feet) . Where we will enjoy the beauty and charm of the place, a magnificent opportunity to take incredible dream photos.
Back at our camp, we will observe the sunset admiring the valley with an impressive scene that will fill you with peace and harmony in your being. Time to find yourself!
Tea time and then enjoy our delicious dinner. At night we will have the opportunity to contemplate the stars and the firmament full of constellations in the sky , finally we will go to our accommodations to be able to rest under the stars and continue for the next day.
