WAQRAPUKARA , is an archaeological complex in Acomayo, city of Cusco. At 4,300 meters above sea level, it was built by the Qanchis and later conquered by the Incas. It was declared in 2017 as Cultural Heritage of the Nation by the Ministry of Culture. The building would be an Inca sanctuary intended to worship their main deity the “God Teqsi Pachacamaq Wiraqocha” God of the Qanchis and is located on platforms, squares and a stone forest.
Waqra (horn), Pukara (fortress), or horn-shaped fortress. However, for the communities of Acos this fortress is known as Llamapukara, since they claim that the horns are actually the ears of a llama that remains alert in the presence of foreign people.
Waqrapukara Cusco, also an Inca sanctuary, means that it had great political and religious power. It consists of 2 groups: the first group is in the highest area of the building, there you can see two groups of enclosures separated by a fairly large central space and these in turn have passages, double jamb doorways and niches that function as ornaments and the second group is located in the lowest area and consists of 8 terraces 150 meters long and 2 meters high. Also, you can see two enclosures with double jambs and niches plus 5 enclosures that are located at the east end.

1. Centro Histórico de Lima
Este distrito es la zona más significativa de la ciudad por su valor histórico y cultural. Tras llegar al Nuevo Mundo, los españoles fundaron una ciudad en este estratégico punto, a la que le dieron el nombre de Ciudad de los Reyes un 18 de enero de 1535. Durante el siglo XVI, esta ciudad pasaría gradualmente a ser conocida como Lima.
En el Cercado de Lima podemos apreciar una visión de la ciudad durante la época colonial, ya que la mayoría de sus estructuras se han conservado hasta la fecha. Esta zona contiene más de 600 monumentos históricos, por lo que fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1991.
• Plaza San Martín
La Plaza San Martín fue construida en honor al general José de San Martín, el general que lideró el movimiento de independencia peruano. El lugar cuenta con un monumento al General San Martín hecho completamente de bronce, rodeado de jardines de flores y cuatro fuentes de agua.
• Plaza Mayor
También conocida como Plaza de Armas, se encuentra en el corazón del Centro Histórico de Lima. Alrededor de la plaza se encuentran el Palacio de Gobierno, la Catedral de Lima, el Palacio Municipal, el Palacio Arzobispal de Lima y el Palacio de la Unión. Cabe resaltar que esta histórica plaza fue donde José de San Martín proclamó la independencia de Perú.
• Iglesia y Convento de Santo Domingo
Esta intrincada iglesia colonial se construyó en 1578, aunque su construcción tardó más de 50 años en completarse. La iglesia y el convento de Santo Domingo albergan los restos de los santos peruanos más significativos: Santa Rosa de Lima y San Martín de Porres, el primer santo negro de Sudamérica.
2. Miraflores
Este famoso distrito se encuentra en la cima del acantilado de la costa limeña, zona privilegiada con una vista excepcional al Océano Pacífico. Miraflores también alberga numerosos centros comerciales, discotecas y bares. Ahora bien, estas no son las únicas atracciones de este distrito de clase alta, ya que también alberga galerías de arte, museos e incluso un famoso yacimiento arqueológico.
• Huaca Pucllana
Esta es una de las 54 huacas situadas en la ciudad de Lima. Según los historiadores, la Huaca Pucllana fue principalmente un centro de ceremonias con algunas características administrativas. A lo largo de su historia, este lugar fue ocupado por diferentes civilizaciones a lo largo de casi mil años.

• Parque del Amor
Situado a 20 minutos del Parque Kennedy, el Parque del Amor es el lugar perfecto para dar un paseo romántico, relajarse o admirar la costa del Pacífico.
El Parque del Amor es visualmente atractivo por sus bancos de cerámica, sus coloridas flores y, sobre todo, por la escultura “El Beso” realizada por el artista Víctor Delfín.
• Parque Kennedy
También conocido como Parque Central de Miraflores, se encuentra en el centro del distrito de Miraflores y tiene una extensión de 22.000 m2. Esta hermosa plaza está rodeada de los principales restaurantes, centros comerciales y hoteles de primer nivel de Lima.
El Parque Kennedy es reconocido por albergar a cientos de gatos callejeros que son atendidos por la Municipalidad de Miraflores y algunas fundaciones sin fines de lucro. Asimismo, el famoso Parque Central ofrece espacios de recreación para artistas locales, músicos y muchas actividades.
3. Barranco
Este original distrito es famoso por su expresión artística, donde destacados murales, música en vivo, mercados artesanales, restaurantes y bares dan vida y color a sus calles.
